James joined the Mize Houser audit and assurance team in January 1989 and became a shareholder with the firm in 2002. His specialty areas include providing assurance and consultation services to construction contractors, automobile dealerships and manufacturers, and employee benefit plan audits.

James has significant audit experience in a variety of businesses and industries, agreed-upon procedures engagements, internal control reviews, tax planning, and business acquisitions and sales.

When asked what he finds most rewarding about his job, James shares, "I enjoy the chance to work with the various individuals at each company and the diversity in the types of industries we serve. It’s rewarding to provide services to clients that they appreciate and respect. Clients come to us with a specific need or problem and we are able to work with them to enhance their systems, identify tax planning opportunities, and provide a more efficient accounting process. As a result, their bottom line is improved."

James graduated with an accounting and business administration degree from the University of Kansas in 1988. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Kansas Society of CPA's. He is also on the board of TARC, Inc.
