Microsoft has announced a vulnerability in its web browser Internet Explorer (IE) versions 6-11 that could allow hackers access to computers or networks. IE is a popular web browser utilized by more than half of computer users.
On Monday, April 28, the Department of Homeland Security advised using an alternative to Internet Explorer until the flaw is fixed. Those computers still using Windows XP, for which Microsoft discontinued updates earlier in April, are especially at risk for this vulnerability.
The Mize Houser Client Portal and Employee Portal are optimized for Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. As an alternative, both of these portals will function using Google’s Chrome browser which you can download for free here:
Once you download the Chrome browser, we recommend you enable the Adobe PDF plug-in for Chrome:
1. In the Chrome address bar, type chrome://plugins
2. Disable the Chrome PDF Viewer.
3. Enable the Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader plug-in.
4. Close the Chrome browser and then restart Chrome.
